Key Responsibilities:

• The Neuroscience team is seeking a motivated and technically skilled in-vitro scientist with established immunohistochemistry expertise in Neuroscience to join our Boston-based Exploratory Discovery team. Candidates will be able to work independently but will also be expected to proactively collaborate with colleagues across disciplines.
• Primary responsibilities include execution of immunohistochemistry and histology experiments to support the identification and validation of Client targets to treat CNS diseases including neurodegenerative diseases.
• The candidate will be an active participant in the positive and critical scientific dialogue that is necessary to progress our programs.
• The responsibilities of the Neuroscience team member include:-Cryostat and microtome sectioning.
• Develop and execute disease relevant immunohistochemistry assays and perform quantitative image analysis.
• Contribute to the characterization and validation of experimental therapeutics activity.
• Communicate data clearly and concisely to the appropriate teams and stakeholders.
• Be able to thrive in a team environment.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• BS/BA degree with a 3 years of industry or academia experience.
• Strong general knowledge of methods in immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization and method optimization and troubleshooting.
• Proven experience in image acquisition and strong microscopy skills and strong working knowledge of mouse and human neuroanatomy.
• Ability to work independently on data analysis including a practical knowledge of statistics.
• Tissue embedding, microtome and cryostat sectioning.
• Experience with automated immunostainers (e.g. Ventana).
• Demonstrated experience with quantitative image analysis (e.g. ImageJ, Indica labs HALO).
